Properties

Brief Description Investigation of Zircaloy-4 (Zr-4), a zirconium alloy, was conducted to examine the fracture behaviour under peak temperatures of 1200 and 1400 degrees C created from a Gleeble weld simulator using Zr-4 HAZ.
The use of the small punch (SP) test and creation of a finite element analysis (FEA) model was used to analysis and predict the deformation and fracture behaviour of the Zr-4 HAZ welds.
